For concealed cisterns, you need to look at the actuator plate (the button you press). Does it say Geberit?
Buy only brand-specific replacement parts. A Pucci float will never fit properly in a Geberit cistern, and vice versa.

1. Is an external or built-in cistern better?

If you're renovating from scratch, a built-in cistern (e.g., Geberit) is more aesthetically pleasing, quieter, and saves space. If you need to replace an old cistern without damaging the tiles, a surface-mounted cistern (backpack) is the most economical and quickest solution to install (just install two anchors).

2. Does the universal float really work?

For exposed ceramic or plastic cisterns (the older, tall ones), yes, universal float switches (such as "CATIS") are almost always suitable. For modern built-in cisterns , we strongly advise against universal ones: the gaps are tiny. Always buy the original or compatible replacement part certified for that specific model.

3. How do I clean the cistern from limescale without disassembling it?

Limescale is the number one enemy of seals. There are specific descaling products that can be poured into the box and left to act (without damaging the rubber). Performing this treatment once a year can save you from having to replace the parts.
