The Lowara CO Series is a range of close-coupled, end-suction centrifugal electric pumps with threaded connections and an open impeller. Made entirely of stamped AISI 316L stainless steel , they are the reference solution for OEMs requiring a compact, chemically resistant, and clog-resistant pump.

Open Impeller: Designed to handle liquids with suspended solids (up to 20mm) without blocking.

When to specifically choose the CO Series?

The CO Series is unique in the Lowara catalogue because it combines the small size of a domestic pump with the performance of an industrial pump.

1. Typical Applications (OEM)

This is the pump that you find installed as standard inside:

2. Solids Passage: CO 350 vs CO 500

The series is divided into two hydraulic quantities:

CO 350 Series (Small Motor): Free solids passage up to 11 mm .
CO 500 Series (Large Motor): Free solids passage up to 20 mm .

A major advantage of the CO Series is its intelligent design: for maintenance, the impeller, motor, and mechanical seal can be removed without having to disconnect the pump body from the piping. This dramatically reduces factory downtime.

Chemical Compatibility

Thanks to AISI 316L and the available seals (Ceramic/Carbon/FPM standard, or Silicon Carbide optional), the CO Series manages:

Demineralized water.
Glycol solutions.
Mild acidic or alkaline detergents.
Emulsifiable cutting oils.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the CO Series self-priming?

No, the CO Series is a standard centrifuge. It does not suck air. It must be installed below the liquid level (recommended) or with a fully functional foot valve if installed above the liquid level.

What is the difference with the SHO series?

The CO Series has threaded connections and is more compact. The SHO Series is larger, has flanged connections, and reaches much higher power. Choose the CO for medium-low flow rates and tight spaces.

Is it seawater resistant?

Yes, AISI 316L steel is suitable for seawater. However, care must be taken with mechanical sealing (salt crystallizes). We recommend requesting silicon carbide/silicon carbide seals for marine environments.
