Lowara SCUBA pumps are 5-inch multistage submersible electric pumps, specifically designed to pump clean water from collection tanks, cisterns, or Roman wells. Thanks to their monoblock "Double Seal" design, the electric motor is protected by a double mechanical seal and is cooled directly by the pumped water.

Why choose SCUBA instead of a normal well pump?

Self-Cooling: No external cooling jackets required. It can operate safely in still water (tanks) or partially submerged water without overheating.
High Pressure: Unlike drainage pumps, the SCUBA is a multi-stage pump that generates high pressures (up to 80 metres / 8 bar), perfect for powering irrigation systems or home pressure tanks.
Silence: Being immersed, it completely eliminates the noise typical of surface pumps.

Choosing Guide: SCUBA or GS?

Many customers are undecided between the SCUBA and the GS series (4 inches). Here's the rule to avoid making a mistake:

Choose the Lowara GS if: You have a narrow, deep artesian well (110mm pipe). The GS is designed to fit into tight spaces.
Choose the Lowara SCUBA if: You have a cistern, tank, or large well (more than 1 meter). In these situations, the GS would suffer from heat, while the SCUBA works perfectly because the motor is internal. Furthermore, the SCUBA is easier to install (the single-phase version already has a built-in capacitor and float switch).

🆕 New SCUBA "Dry" Version

The new Lowara SCUBA have been redesigned to be even more reliable:

Replaceable Cable: The power cable now has a removable waterproof connector. If you accidentally cut the cable or want to extend it, you don't have to disassemble the entire pump.
Sacrificial Anode (Optional): You can fit a zinc anode to protect it from galvanic corrosion in aggressive environments.
Floating Suction: A kit is available for sucking water at the free surface (Floating Suction), avoiding drawing soil from the bottom of the tank.

Acronyms and Variants

CG Version: Single-phase WITH pre-assembled float switch. (Plug & Pump).
Version C: Single-phase WITHOUT float switch. (Ideal if controlled by an external pressure control).
Version T: Three-phase (380V). Requires external control panel.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I use it for drinking water?

Yes, the SCUBA is made of AISI 304 stainless steel and food-grade technopolymers. The oil in the sealing chamber is non-toxic.

How do I make it automatic?

If you purchase the version without a float valve, we recommend installing a Lowara Genyo (Presscontrol) on the delivery line. This will ensure that the SCUBA starts and stops automatically when the valves are opened.

Which pipe should I connect?

The SCUBA outlet is 1" 1/4 (one and a quarter inches). We recommend using 32mm or 40mm polyethylene tubing to avoid restricting the flow.
