GEL Compact Mini compact water softener cod. 109.715.50

The calcium and magnesium salts determine the hardness of the water, which is the main cause of encrustations and damage to water systems, boilers, kettles, taps and appliances.

If the water has a hardness higher than 15° French, it is good practice to install an ion exchange softener.

In addition to solving the limestone problem, it is important to install a water softener because it reduces energy costs and the consumption of detergents, makes the skin hydrated and the clothes clean.

The GEL softeners are:

• Compact in design and small in size
• Efficient in reducing the hardness and washing the resins, and with reduced consumption
• Complete with electronic timer for automatic management of regeneration in time, pure volume or volume/time mode.

Characteristics

The Compact series ion exchange cabinet softeners are complete with:

• 20 μm self-cleaning filter
• Mixing valve
• Electronic system (timer) for automatic management of regeneration in time, pure volume or volume/time mode.

Furthermore:

• They retain solid impurities
• They remove up to 10ppm of iron and manganese
• They are ideal in situations of limited space

The easy-to-use five-button programming timer indicates: time of day, frequency in days and regeneration mode, quantity of hardness, iron and manganese, exchange capacity, backwash duration, quantity of salt consumed at each regeneration, consumption instant of water.

The Compacts have a head with a hydropneumatic valve in plastic material and an electronic timer; plastic cylinder covered in fiberglass.

All equipment in contact with drinking water is made with top quality materials, in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Decree 174/2004.

Installation

• The Compacts must be installed by qualified personnel, in a dry place protected from frost and sunlight.
• After verifying the correct installation, GEL specialized personnel carry out testing and start-up.
• Prepare for a 230V power outlet.
• Install a safety filter upstream of the softener.
• Use flexible pipes or anti-vibration joints to make the water connections from the softener to the system.
• Position a free drain (not under pressure) at a height lower than the "overflow" of the brine tank.
• Install an autoclave with pressures below 1.5 bar.
• Install a pressure reducer with pressures above 4 bar.
• Install a non-return valve after the meter.

Maintenance

• Periodically clean the filter cartridge upstream of the softener
• Clean the brine tank every six months.
• Periodically check and replenish the salt in the brine tank (according to the instructions of the specialized technician).
• Check the hardness of the water supplied every two months.
• Periodically check that the salt level in the brine tank is higher than the water level.

COMPACT SELECTION GUIDE

NB. In the "choice guide" table, only the daily water consumption is taken into account, therefore check the peak flow rate. If the peak flow rate is not adequate, choose the higher softener model. A regenerative frequency of 2 days and a residual hardness of 15°f are also considered.

If there is iron and manganese in the water, add the iron and/or manganese value (mg/l) to the hardness (°f).

NB For each milligram/litre of iron and manganese, 6.5 °f of hardness (65 mg/l) must be considered.
