The water used in plumbing systems contains a certain quantity of dissolved calcium and magnesium salts which make it hard.

By heating the water, the hardness gives rise to a chemical reaction with the formation of calcium and magnesium carbonate (limestone) and carbon dioxide.

Calcium carbonate precipitates giving rise to encrustations on systems and exchangers while carbon dioxide generates corrosive effects inside the system.

It is therefore necessary to treat the water by installing anti-limescale and anti-corrosion equipment such as proportional dosers (UNI 8065).

The dosage of polyphosphate-based products, in proportion to the flow of water (4 ppm), does not alter the drinkable characteristics of the water, keeps the elements soluble which would otherwise precipitate forming encrustations and protects against corrosion phenomena.

The very simple installation can be carried out upstream of the water system, boilers or boilers and upstream of washing machines and dishwashers.

Characteristics

Dosaphos Plant dispensers are anti-limescale-anti-corrosion dispensers for water systems, storage boilers and large exchangers.

The functioning is based on the automatic and proportional dosage of the Gelphos product, with a chelating and sequestering action, capable of:

• Prevent the deposit of calcium carbonate (no encrustations)
• Form a protective film inside the pipes (no corrosion)

Dosaphos Plants are made of chromed brass and plastic materials for potable use.

The package includes a 0.5 kg refill of Gelphos P.

Installation

• If the water pressure is higher than 10 bar, a pressure reducer must be installed upstream of the dispenser.
• Check that, during installation, the pipes are free from machining chips or other foreign bodies.
• The Gelphos P refill should be stored in a dry place, away from heat sources.
• Gelphos P must be mixed with water until completely homogenized and wait for it to harden before screwing the Dosaphos jar back on.
