When using ALPHA2 with two other components, ALPHA Reader and the Grundfos GO Balance app, it allows installers to perform quick and easy hydronic balancing, without compromising reliability, efficiency and ease of installation.
The AUTOADAPT function continuously adapts the pump performance to the actual heat demand, i.e. the size of the system and the variation of the heat demand during the year. The function will find the setting that provides optimal comfort with the least energy consumption. It contributes to quick, safe and easy commissioning.
Additionally, the pump also features three control modes, each with three settings
- proportional pressure control
- constant pressure control
- constant curve mode
The display shows actual energy consumption in Watts or actual flow in m3/h, as well as alarms and warnings. The LEDs indicate the actual operating status.
The night reduction function, if enabled, automatically reduces the motor speed to save energy. The switching depends on a change in the temperature of the delivery pipe.
Manual summer mode; Once enabled, the pump automatically starts frequently at low speed to avoid rotor blockage. At the same time, it saves energy.
The pump is of the encapsulated rotor type, which means that the pump and motor form an integral unit. The bearings are lubricated by the pumped liquid ensuring maintenance-free operation. The pump is equipped with dry-running protection.
The pump has a ceramic shaft and radial bearings, carbon thrust bearing, stainless steel rotor, bearing plate and rotor liner, composite impeller, which contribute to long life.
The pump automatically vents through the system, which contributes to easy commissioning. The compact design featuring the pump head with integrated control box and control panel adapts to the most common installations.
The pump housing is made of cast iron and electro coated to improve corrosion resistance.
The motor is a compact permanent magnet/stator synchronous motor featuring high efficiency. The speed of the pump is controlled by an integrated frequency converter built into the control box.
