Arexons green sealant 100 ml code 0090

  • Anaerobic Sealant: Hardens only in the absence of air (once the piece is closed) and in contact with the metal. Does not dry in the open air.
  • Zero Thickness: Creates an extremely thin and tenacious film that does not alter mating dimensions and tolerances. Ideal for sealing engine casings (e.g., Vespas, 2-stroke motorcycles) and gearboxes.
  • High Resistance: Resists oils, gasoline, coolants, gases, and high pressures. Does not crumble with vibration.
  • Replaces Solid Gaskets: Perfect for replacing thin paper gaskets on machined or ground surfaces.
  • Easy Disassembly: Allows the casings to be reopened with normal tools during subsequent maintenance.

Description

Arexons Green Sealant: Surgical Precision for Your Engine

When you need to seal a motorcycle engine block, gearbox, or hydraulic pump, the metal surfaces are often ground and fit perfectly. Using silicone here would be a mistake: it would create a shim that would cause the internal shafts to misalign. The professional solution is Arexons Green Sealer (Code 0090) , an anaerobic liquid gasket designed for metal-to-metal connections.

The "Anaerobic" Difference

Unlike silicones that dry in the air, this product remains liquid until you close the two pieces of metal together. Only then, without air, does it polymerize, transforming into a hard, durable plastic.

  • Tolerance Compliance: Fills only the metal's micro-imperfections without adding thickness. This is essential in 2-stroke engines or transmissions where axial play is a matter of hundredths of a millimeter.
  • Structural Seal: In addition to sealing, it increases the rigidity of the coupling, making the engine block more solid and resistant to torsion.
  • Versatility: Excellent for flanges, covers, casings, but also as a light threadlocker on studs that need to seal the passage of oil.
  • Lifelong Durability: Will not age, shrink, or be attacked by modern synthetic fluids.

Typical Applications

  • Closing of half-crankcases for motorcycle and scooter engines (Vespa, 50cc scooter, Motocross).
  • Sealing water and oil pumps.
  • Gearboxes and reducers.
  • Rigid flanged couplings.

Instructions for use

  1. Surfaces must be perfectly clean and degreased (use brake degreaser or nitro thinner). Grease prevents hardening.
  2. Apply a continuous bead or spread the product with a finger/brush on one of the surfaces.
  3. There's no rush: the product won't dry until you close the pieces.
  4. Assemble the parts and tighten the screws to the prescribed torque.
  5. Functional curing occurs in 1-3 hours, full curing in 12-24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it the same as black or red sealant?

No, they're opposites. Black/Red are silicones that create a thick seal (soft seal) and fill large spaces. Green is anaerobic (hard and thin seal) for surfaces that already have perfect contact. Never mix them up!

Can I use it if the surfaces are scratched or damaged?

Green Sealant fills very small gaps (usually up to 0.2-0.3 mm). If the crankcases are badly damaged or there's a large gap between the two pieces, it's better to use black or red sealant, which has greater filling power.

How do I clean up the excess that comes out?

Simple: just use a cloth. Since the product that comes out remains in contact with the air, it will never harden. Wipe clean immediately after tightening.

Is it difficult to reopen the engine after using this product?

No. Although it glues the parts together, it has a medium mechanical resistance that allows for disassembly by levering at the appropriate points or by tapping with a rubber mallet to "break" the seal.
