Instructions for use
- Remove all traces of the old gasket (using a scraper or gasket remover).
- Thoroughly degrease the surfaces with a solvent (e.g., Arexons Fulcron or Brake Degreaser). The surface must be dry.
- Remove the safety tab and press the dispenser to apply a continuous bead to one of the two parts, surrounding the bolt holes well.
- Wait about 10 minutes (skin formation) before assembling the pieces.
- Tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Complete hardening occurs in about 24 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it resistant to petrol?
NO. Like almost all acetic silicones, it does not withstand continuous contact with gasoline (it dissolves). Do not use it on carburetors, fuel taps, or tanks. Special non-silicone sealants are required for gasoline.
What is the difference with Red Silicone?
Black is specifically formulated to better resist synthetic oils and gives an "original" look to the engine. Red is formulated to withstand even higher temperatures (300°C+), ideal for exhaust manifolds. For oil pans and transmissions, Black is the best choice.
Can I use it without the old gasket?
Yes, that's what it was designed for. It replaces pre-formed gaskets. Just make sure the two metal surfaces fit together properly (flat).
Do you need a silicone gun?
