DAB BWO 155: The "Vortex BlueOne" Sanitary Recirculation Unit

The Original Spherical Rotor Pump: Hot Water and Hygiene

The DAB BWO 155 series (formerly known as Vortex BlueOne ) is the absolute benchmark for hot water recirculation in villas and apartments. Thanks to its "Magnetic Spherical Rotor" technology, this pump has no drive shaft, virtually eliminating the risk of limescale blockage.

  • Ridiculous Consumption: It absorbs between 2.5 and 9 Watts (less than a light bulb in standby).
  • Intelligent: Available with mechanical Timer (ZM) and Thermostat (KT) integrated into the motor head.
  • Easy to Clean: The motor can be unscrewed by hand thanks to the ring nut, allowing you to clean the sphere from limescale in 2 minutes.

BWO pumps all look the same, but their accessories and connections vary. To avoid the wrong order, identify your needs:

🔍 Decode Code (ZM, KT, V, R)

1. CHOOSE THE ELECTRONICS (The Head):

  • Standard (No abbreviation): Simple pump, always runs when powered. (Requires external timer.)
  • ZM (Timer): It has a built-in mechanical clock. You can set the times when it should turn on (e.g., 6:00-9:00 and 18:00-22:00) to save energy.
  • KT (Timer + Thermostat): The best. It has a timer BUT it turns off automatically if the water is already hot (above 45°C), even if the timer says "on". Maximum savings.

2. CHOOSE THE ATTACK (The Body):

  • "V" Version (Valve): Length 110 mm . 1" 1/4 Male Connection (for union). Includes non-return valve and ball valve.
  • "R" Version (Connection): Length 80 mm (Very short!). 1/2" Female Connection. No valves included.

Why install a BWO 155?

Besides saving money, it's a matter of hygiene. The spherical motor has no bearings to wear out. It's extremely quiet, and if it gets dirty after years, you don't have to call a plumber: just unscrew the ring nut, rinse the ball under the tap, and reassemble it. It's the only pump that "cleans itself."

Frequently Asked Questions about DAB BWO

Is this compatible with my old blue Vortex?

Yes, DAB distributes the Vortex BlueOne line. If you have an older BWO 155 or BW 152, the motors are often interchangeable. Just check whether you have a V (long with valves) or R (short female) connection.

How do I set the Timer (ZM version)?

On the pump head, there's a dial with "rider" levers. Push the levers outward at the times you want hot water (e.g., early in the morning). The pump will only run during those times.
