Why do you need a specific pump for domestic hot water?

The water we use for washing is rich in oxygen and mineral salts (limescale). If you used a standard heating pump (the green cast iron ones), the oxygen would cause rust within a few weeks, ruining the pump and contaminating the water.

It depends on your savings needs and the system:

DAB Evosta 2 SAN (Electronic): The top of the range. It consumes very little power (like an LED bulb) and automatically adjusts to the tap opening. It pays for itself on your electricity bill.

How to fight limescale?
