DAB Evosta 2 Sol: Circulators for Solar Thermal and Glycol

DAB Evosta 2 Sol: The Heart of Your Solar System

Designed to stand where others stop

The DAB Evosta 2 Sol is more than just a heating pump: it's a circulator protected against the extreme conditions of solar thermal panels. Built to handle very high-temperature fluids and dense mixtures of water and glycol (antifreeze).

  • High Thermal Resistance: Works constantly up to 110°C, with peaks of 130°C (typical of summer stagnation).
  • Glycol Compatible: Reinforced seals and motor to handle antifreeze percentages up to 50%.
  • Smart PWM: Prepared for connection to modern solar control units (remote regulation).

Why can't you use a regular pump on solar?

The most common mistake is installing a standard circulator (for radiators) on the solar system. The result? The seals get baked and the motor burns out within a few months due to the heat radiating from the roof.

Evosta 2 Sol was created for this: its cataphoretic-treated cast iron body and special motor are resistant to scorching summers and harsh winters. It's the perfect replacement for older solar circulators (even those from other brands) that have stopped working or become noisy.

⚠️ Pay attention to power (prevalence)

In solar systems, the pump must push water up to the roof and overcome the resistance of very long pipes. Before purchasing:

  • Check the head of the old pump (e.g. 6m, 7m or the powerful 14.5m versions).
  • If your system has a high difference in height (e.g. panels on the roof of an apartment building), choose the 145 version (14.5 metres) .
  • For standard villas, the 75 version (7.5 metres) is usually sufficient.

Available wheelbases: 130mm (most common in solar) and 180mm.

PWM Signal: What Changes?

This pump is equipped with a PWM signal connector. If your solar controller supports it, you can connect it to have the pump automatically speed up or slow down based on the amount of sunlight, maximizing thermal output.

Frequently Asked Questions about Evosta 2 Sol

Can I install it even if I don't have the PWM cable?

Yes, absolutely. Evosta 2 Sol also works perfectly in manual mode (like a traditional pump) by setting the desired speed using the front button.

Is it resistant to old antifreeze?

The pump is resistant to glycol up to 50%, but we always recommend flushing the system. If the old glycol has become dark or tarry ("cracked"), it could also block the new pump. Clean before installing!

How do you make the electrical connection?

Connection is a breeze thanks to the included Molex connector. There's no need to open the engine box; simply insert the pre-wired plug.
