GUIDELINES FOR THE CORRECT TREATMENT OF WATER IN THERMAL SYSTEMS (UNI 8065: 2019)

The idea that a new hydro-thermo-sanitary system is “clean” is profoundly wrong. Inside the systems there are oils, welding fluxes, shavings that can cause many problems during the life of the system. Oils and greases form insulating films that prevent the formation of protective oxides on metals and prevent corrosion inhibitors from doing their job. The shavings can not only block the control organs (valve passage lights) and the moving parts (circulator impellers) but can represent the cause of localized corrosion, even very serious. Soldering fluxes, being rich in salts, represent widespread sources of corrosion.

For this reason, it is essential to always carry out a thorough washing even of new systems.

A good flush should always be done using external recirculation pumps. The boiler circulators, in addition to not having the hydraulic characteristics necessary to provide sufficient mechanical strength to perform a good washing, could suffer irreversible damage caused by shavings and foreign bodies.

The washing of new systems must be carried out with AZ® 200 universal cleaner.

After having circulated AZ® 200 for a sufficient and necessary time, drain the solution and rinse the system until all traces of dirt and detergent solution have been completely removed.

After having thoroughly rinsed the system, it must be protected using AZ® 100 universal protective.

It is always advisable to monitor the protection level of the AZ® 100 product during the year, using the specific analysis kit. If the protection level is insufficient it will be necessary to top up the missing product.

OLD PLANTS

When a heating system has been in service for a long time, various substances can form inside it that can alter or even completely compromise its operation.

Depending on the type of heating system, the time and the operating conditions, the foreign materials that can form are many.

In radiator heating systems, the formation of sludge and iron oxides can lead to total or partial obstruction of the radiators, causing a partialization. In the case of low-temperature systems, on the other hand, the micro-organisms lead to the formation of mucilage that obstruct the passage openings of the pipes.

In all these cases it is necessary to use specific cleaning products. The chemical action of the detergent is generally insufficient to guarantee adequate cleaning unless accompanied by an intense mechanical action offered by the BravoEVOLUTION PLUS external recirculation pump. It is also often necessary to concentrate the entire treatment flow on one ring of the implant.

The washing of old systems, radiator systems and low temperature systems, must be carried out with AZ® 200. The product must be kept in circulation for a sufficient time to guarantee the desired result.

After completing the cleaning, it is necessary to carry out a thorough rinsing until you obtain clean water free of foreign bodies and free of detergent solution.

It is very important not to clean old systems with the boiler circulator; during the washing operations it would be advisable to completely exclude the circulator (by-passing it or temporarily removing it).

After having thoroughly rinsed the system, it must be protected using AZ® 100 universal protective.

AZ® WATER ANALYSIS
