Single-component liquid polyurethane adhesive.

FIELDS OF USE

Bonding of wooden products exposed to high humidity such as window frames and garden furniture.

Gluing of chipboard and medium density panels.

Bonding of porous materials such as wood, plasterboard, concrete together and in combination with various materials including metals, plastics (excluding PE, PP, PTFE), HPL sheets and polystyrene and polyurethane foams for the formation of sandwich panels.

STORAGE

Pattex Legno PU Liquid must be stored in a tightly closed package in a cool, dry place;

FEARS FROST. If well stored the product is stable for 12 months.

HOW TO USE

Preparation of the supports

Only glue materials that are free of dust and grease. In the case of metals, especially lead and aluminum, the oxide layers must be removed (sand, wash with thinner). Since it reacts and hardens under the effect of humidity, it is preferable for one of the two materials to be porous. Otherwise, moisten one of the two surfaces.

For gluing subjected to very high stresses or with hard woods, it is advisable to slightly moisten the surfaces to be glued to optimise the grip (this procedure reduces the open time).

Application

Apply the product using a fine toothed spatula, roller or bead on one of the two surfaces, normally the less absorbent one. Pattex Legno PU Liquid also glues metals, so it is advisable to shield the parts that must not be glued with a PE sheet. The drying time depends on the type of surface and the thickness of the application.

Pressing method

The glued parts must be held in a vice or under light pressure, possibly hot, until the first hardening. Apply a pressure of approx. 1.6 Kg/cm2; for bonding porous materials apply a pressure > 2 Kg/cm2.

Pressing time

The total pressing time depends on the type of materials to be bonded, the temperature and the humidity of the air.

At 23°C and 50% relative humidity, a pressing time of 30 minutes is sufficient for bonding porous materials, such as wood-wood.

If one of the materials is not porous, the time will be extended to a maximum of 2 hours. After this period of time, there is sufficient mechanical resistance for processing the pieces. The final resistance is reached after approximately 24 hours.

Warnings

The use of protective gloves is recommended.

Close the package immediately after use.

Remove residues on tools or any fresh product stains with acetone. Once hardened, remove mechanically.
